Kathie Thomas-Sarles is the Early Intervention Professional Development Specialist with the Family Infant and Preschool Program (FIPP). She graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in English followed by a master’s degree in special education from Plymouth State University earning a New Hampshire special education teacher’s certification, which she currently holds. Kathie’s passion is supporting the parent/child relationship, using a strength- based approach. She is Brazelton Touchpoints trained and is certified as an infant massage educator. While in California, she was endorsed by the California Center for Infant Mental Health as an infant/parent mental health practitioner. Kathie has worked in the intervention field for over 25 years, both as a supervisor and a provider of intervention services in New Hampshire and California. She is excited to be in North Carolina as a part of the research/development team continuing to support both families and providers on their unique journey for better outcomes for children and families.
