FIPP is home to the NC Infant Toddler Assistive Technology Program (NCITATP). This service for children age birth to three years provides trials of assistive technology such as communication devices, adapted seats and strollers, walkers, and other devices to help your child participate in daily activities. These trial loans allow families to explore options for equipment prior to purchasing a device through insurance, community funding, or other payment sources. The NCITATP team supports the state of North Carolina in helping children to succeed. NCITATP team members work with local early intervention providers to help your family find the devices you need, support you in making a plan to get a device of your own, and teach you how to access assistive technology throughout your child’s life. If you feel your child would benefit from an assistive device, contact your FIPP provider to discuss how to access this program.
